Dan McCullough<p>One of the more ubiquitous little shelf mushrooms is Trichaptum biforme. One of its common names is Purple Tooth. </p><p>Which can be… confusing, seeing most of the time you find these, they’re banded with shades of cream. Sort of a bargain basement Turkey Tail. </p><p>But… when they are fresh, well, their undersides are just lovely - a bright mishmash of purple hues.
