I have no shortwave radio, which model is a good compromise to stay informed in case of emergency?
Not too expensive but I can trust

@adele Something with solar panel and dynamo crank?

the Chinese company XHDATA or SIHUADON makes various models. about 20-30€ will get you one with analogue tuning (good enough to listen to international broadcasters on HF (shortwave)) - 70€ will get you a model such as the R108 with digital tuning, sidebands etc. The analogue ones use standard LR06/mignon batteries, digital sets usually have a 18650 rechargeable (that you might get in a torch or vape mod), and charge up using a mobile phone charger.

Tecsun also make good receivers; these are more expensive. They are sold at any place which sells Chinese electronics (if you do not like to use Amazon, there might be local importers in your country)

I've also seen analogue shortwave sets sold in hypermarkets for 10-15€ (even in the supermarket here!), as long as they don't drift way off frequency they are a cheap way of monitoring an overseas broadcaster...

nice compact set with a lot of features and not too expensive (although harder to find in the UK)
